Ubuntu Outlook:
After I’ve entered System menu I’ve found an option labeled Theme in Preferences. This word looked familiar somehow! The menu with the list of themes for desktop decoration opened up. Without thinking too long, I’ve selected the theme I liked for its gamma of colors, called Human (default Ubuntu theme). As I expected, I found Customize button beside it. I’ve already got used to the fact that in this system all elements are customizable. After you click this button, the set of customizable desktop elements will be displayed. You should customize it according to your own tastes, of course.
The next interesting option related to desktop effects is located in the same System menu, called Desktop Effects. Oh, I forgot to mention, there is a function of switching between desktops here. So you’ve got several desktops.
After opening this menu you can see just one single button Enable Desktop Effects and two effects. First of these effects is called Windows Wobble When Moving. It makes windows sort of rubbery and while moving they behave like a rubber too. Second effect is called Workspaces On a Cube emulating a cube, which sides become your desktops. During switch from one desktop to another this cube rotates. Kuhl!
Fonts:
On one submenu of System menu, there is Font option. You won’t find even a half of fonts OS Windows contains, but what fonts you’ll find here will be quite enough. There is an option of selecting fonts for various elements, like: applications, desktop, window titles and etc. Also there are several options of displaying different elements.
Mainly that’s it for outlook customization. There are little nice things, which description I leave to you for a dessert if you will be brave enough to install Ubuntu.
Here is a screenshot of my desktop:
