At a seminar devoted to the problems of using PHP and Flash, Vadim Korneev accompanied by Alexander Nemtsov spoke about creating web applications based on PHP and Flash technologies. He focused on the AMF protocol, which allows the client part of the application (Flash) exchange data with the server (PHP). The protocol in question differs from its XML analogues (SOAP and XML RPC) in the possibility to code data into the binary form, which minimizes the room occupied. Besides, the protocol is supported by internal Flash means and there is a number of appropriate applications for PHP letting the developer concentrate on the application logics leaving apart the problem of interaction between the client and server parts.
